#48About Driskill Mountain
Driskill Mountain is Louisiana's highest point at 535 feet, located in Bienville Parish in the northern part of the state. The summit can be reached by a short hike through pine forest and offers no views due to tree cover. The area represents the maximum elevation in a state known for low-lying wetlands and delta regions.
History
Named after the Driskill family who owned the land, this modest hill represents the highest natural elevation in Louisiana. The area is typical of the pine forests that once covered much of northern Louisiana before extensive logging and agriculture changed the landscape.
