Mount Tom reaches 4,051 feet and offers excellent views from several outlooks near the summit. The mountain is part of the Willey Range and provides spectacular vistas of Crawford Notch, Mount Willey, and the Presidential Range. The summit area features interesting sub-alpine terrain.
History
Named after Thomas Crawford, son of Abel and Ethan Allen Crawford who were pioneers in establishing trails and hospitality in the White Mountains, Mount Tom has been a hiking destination since the mid-1800s. The mountain is part of the historic trail network in Crawford Notch.
