Mount Moriah
#41About Mount Moriah
Mount Moriah reaches 4,049 feet and marks the northern terminus of the Carter-Moriah Range. The summit offers excellent views from an open area on the mountaintop. The peak can be approached from several directions and is often climbed as part of the Carter-Moriah traverse or as a standalone hike.
History
Named after the biblical Mount Moriah, the peak has been part of the White Mountains trail network since the early 1900s. The mountain's position at the northern end of the Carter-Moriah Range makes it a popular starting or ending point for ridge traverses. The summit was once home to a fire lookout station.
