Mount Isolation
#47About Mount Isolation
Mount Isolation reaches 4,004 feet and lives up to its name as one of the more remote Presidential peaks. The summit offers excellent views, particularly of Mount Washington and the Southern Presidentials. Reaching the summit requires a long approach through the Rocky Branch drainage, making it one of the more challenging peaks to access.
History
Named for its isolated position in the Dry River drainage, Mount Isolation was one of the last of the major White Mountain peaks to be regularly climbed. The mountain's remote location preserves its wilderness character. The peak offers a true backcountry experience and is often completed as part of multi-day hiking trips.
