El Diente Peak
#55About El Diente Peak
El Diente Peak rises to 14,159 feet (4,316 m) with its name meaning 'The Tooth' in Spanish, aptly describing its appearance. Though it falls short of the 300-foot prominence rule, it's a named fourteener often combined with Mount Wilson. The peak requires technical scrambling and offers dramatic San Juan scenery.
History
Part of the Wilson massif, El Diente is known for technical challenges and spectacular rock formations. The traverse from Mount Wilson includes exposed Class 3-4 scrambling on generally solid rock.
