Cornell Mountain is part of the Burroughs Range in the heart of the Catskills. It features a famous rock scramble known as 'Cornell Crack' and offers excellent views of the surrounding wilderness. The mountain is traversed by the Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide Trail.
History
Cornell Mountain was named after Cornell University. The challenging rock formation known as 'Cornell Crack' is one of the more difficult scrambles in the Catskills and can be treacherous in winter conditions.
